There are several magazines that are invaluable resources in techniques and information on authentic detail for old house owners and restorers.

 

 

Old House Journal

The original and principal resource for old home restorers. Find products and services for homes built before 1950 and everything you'll need for your old-house restoration projects.

Subscriptions are $16.95 for a year, 6 issues, and discounted for two years.

Their website: http://www.oldhousejournal.com/ has links to subscribe, a free newsletter, and dozens of current articles with ideas for particular old house problems. A must for anyone owning such a place and trying to do some of the work themselves, or just for ideas for your contractor.

 

 

 

 

 American Bungalow

Quality illustrated magazine of Arts and Crafts bungalows. Specializes in photo tours of classic examples of the genre and articles on appropriate furniture and lighting. Fine photographs of period interiors.
